REACH Resources

No Such Thing As An "Undecided" Student!

Process

It's a selfish one and all above narrowing choices.

  • Self Assessment (Interests, Likes, Dislikes, Values, Settings and Situations)

  • Academic Assessment (Good Fit With Self?)

  • Career Assessment (What Can I Do With...? and Good Fit With Self and Academic)

  • Repeat (Hopefully Not Too Many Times!)

Once A Direction Is Found-Exploration Continues

  • Experience (Jobs, Internship, Research w/Faculty, Professional Development Activities)

  • 1st Job or Continue Education

What To Do And Questions To Ask?

  • Career Research Websites (See What Can I Do With A Major In...? Page on Career Services Website)

  • What Are Your Interests? (Academic and Non-Academic)

  • What Are Your Likes and Dislikes? (Academically and Work-Related)

  • What Do Others Say You Are Good/Not Good At (Perceptions)

  • What Is Your Ideal Setting? (Office, Outdoors, Working With Something/Someone Specific)
