Recognizing Educational Aspirations and Career Horizons
REACH Peer Advisors are student leaders at Central Michigan University that have shown an interest in helping other students in the career development process.  They were selected as REACH Advisors to provide mentoring during major and minor selection, facilitate educational programs on campus, and consult with career services professional staff about how to best meet student needs.

Our mission is to advise and prepare students to successfully navigate their academic journey, develop a career path, and apply job acquisition skills.

Stop by our Minute Clinics to get quick career information!

REACH Advisors conduct Minute Clinics about a variety of career-related topics on campus.  Stop by for less than a minute to hear their tips and get your questions answered!

Meet with a REACH Advisor
 Would you like to meet with a REACH Advisor to talk about choosing a major or finding your career path?  Sometimes it’s nice to talk with another student about these things.  Please send an email to Jana Lewis if you are interested and she will match you with a peer advisor for a meeting or ongoing mentoring.

Request a REACH Presentation or Workshop
REACH Advisors are able to give a variety of presentations and workshops for your organization or CED 101 or FYE 101 course.  Some topics may include:  general overview of Career Services, choosing a major, ways to gain professional experience in college, “digital dirt” on Facebook and MySpace, interview tips, and much more!  Please send an email to Jana Lewis with the following details to request a presentation or workshop.

  • Potential dates/times and time allotted for presentation

  • Course or organization name

  • Target audience (first-year students, graduating seniors, mixed population, etc.) and projected attendance #s

  • Desired topic for presentation
