Capital City - Application Process

Searching for Internship Sites

  • Click on http://cmich.experience.com/er/security/login.jsp
     - If you already have eRecruiting access, enter your username and password.
     - If you do not already have eRecruiting access, click on “create account” and follow the steps.

  • Once in eRecruiting, locate and click on the maroon box with a picture of the capitol building and the title, “CMU Capital City Internship Program”.
    Utilize cover letter and resume samples through CMU Career Services, prior to applying: http://www.careers.cmich.edu/CareerGuide08.pdf.

  • Click on the blue “Search” button  

  • Here are two examples of what you should see:

 

Internships with State Representatives and Senators will be listed as follows:
Office Name, (Political Affiliation and District), Available Term(s) for Internship
For example: Representative Bill Caul, (R-99), Fall

Internships with Michigan Departments and Special Interest Groups will be listed as follows:
Office Name, (Available Term(s) for Internship)
For example: Michigan Lottery, (Fall)
 

Applying to Offices
Students interested in the Capital City Internship Program are required to first meet with Teisha Thelen, Student Internship Coordinator. During this 30 minute meeting, the application process, an overview of the internship program, and student expectations will be discussed. Please call 989-774-3068 to schedule your appointment.
